May Allah bless:
Your days with happiness; Your weeks with prosperity; Your months with contentment; And your years with love and peace!
Yes, it is that time of the year where the Muslims all over the world are waiting to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr or the ‘Feast of breaking the Fast’ to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. After all those days of rigorous fasting we can’t wait to revel in the spirit of Eid, share the family gatherings, lunches and who can ignore the most important part, Eidi! 😀
The true Fashionista will leave no stone unturned to make good use of this money and enjoy in their celebrations looking their traditional best! It is the golden opportunity to dip into those savings to look no less than a celebrity on this joyous occasion so here are few tips we can take from the couture adorned by our favourite celebrities and turn out amazing that day!
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Who better than the new wife of the Chote Nawab of Pataudi to show us how to rock the glamorous Sharara! She wore this gorgeous pink sharara dress designed by Manish Malhotra for a song from her film Agent Vinod with hubby dear. Even though the film failed to leave its mark on us, her gorgeous avatar in a traditional Muslim outfit adored her more to her fans. For jewelry, the glittering Jhoomar on long side-swept waves, paired with matching traditional jhumkis complement her intricately embroidered sharara very well. Kohl-lined eyes(a must for a traditional Muslim look) and her jewelled hands add the finishing touches to this perfect outfit.
Meanwhile her elder sister does not fail to impress us with her traditional turn out at a jewelry store’s promotional event in a sober and sophisticated cream kalidaar kurta teamed with a hot pink sharara. She perfectly balances the neutral shade of her kurta with the pop color in her sharara and lipstick. Her hairstyle does justice to her traditional outlook. But my favourite piece in this entire ensemble is her beautiful necklace with the square centre and lines of pearls. Definitely the cherry on the cake, kudos to Karishma !
This ethereal beauty makes the outfit she adorns beautiful rather than the other way round! For the woman who wants to go more traditional, you can have a look at her blue and dull silver kurti-gharara combination. The gharara is extremely traditional with the silver border and floral design subtly bringing out her designer kurti. The jhoomar adds the regal touch.
For the ones more inclined towards less heavy contemporary options, can take inspiration from her plain and simple dull orange kurta with its flattering flare and black shararas. The stole draped in the usual around-the-neck fashion adds a classic touch. Let your hair down loose, keep the makeup nude and you’re good to go!
In the league of the contemporary options, one can even opt for a gown like the one adorned by Kriti for the occasion. The color black works its magic; the velvet and golden brocade hints of royalty altogether making this gown a masterpiece. As the outfit is solid and dull, one can play with make-up and opt for a dewy look .A must try!
Aditi Rao Hydari
A budding fashionista, she manages to catch our attention whenever she makes an appearance. What I liked most about her ensemble is the flawless blend between traditional and modern with the black kurta in a flattering front slit and printed trousers. Her ‘panchlada haar’(5 tiered necklace) adds the oomph to her outfit. Subtle makeup and hair neatly braided and pinned make her look ravishing. Definitely a good option for this Eid ladies!
Last but not the least, this Pakistani supermodel and actress makes us go gaga over her fashion sense. She looks stunning no matter what she wears whether it is western or traditional. With the advent of Pakistani fashion in Indian markets, we can surely have a look at her traditional bests. In one look she is seen sporting a floral printed gharara with a simple white kurti beneath a dotted dupatta. Elegant and very graceful, it is the easiest outfit we can adopt. In the other she has donned a Feeha Jamshed designer suit consisting of intricate leaf motiffs on her blue kurti and smart black trousers with golden patti. Her way of styling the dupatta makes a lot of difference in the look highlighting the print of her kurta which works well. A low rise bun, silver jhumkis and a fabulous red pout finish off her look perfectly. Fashion at its best for sure!
After going through such beautiful designs and ensembles, I’m sure we can wait no longer to dress up for this festival in all our bejewelled finery! So light up the house with your presence this Eid, click lots of pictures and have an amazing time! Eid Mubahrakh! 😉
